Vivienne Marlow RIP

Vivienne's funeral will take place at St. Matthew's where she was a worshipper throughout her adult life. The service will be at 2.45 pm on Monday 14th April. Family flowers only but donations in Vivienne's memory may be made to the Guide Dogs for the Blind c/o Hemley's the undertaker, 26 Park Road, Bushey, Watford WD23 3EQ, or at the funeral via the plate at the back of the church. Tea and biscuits will be served in the hall after the service.

Evangelism

A Power-Point presentation on Evangelism given to a recent Methodist circuit meeting by Robin McEwen, was so well received that the presentation is being repeated at a joint meeting of the Methodist Housegroups at Bushey and Oxhey Methodist church on Wednesday 9^th April at 8:00 pm.  There will be time for discussion afterwards.  A warm welcome is extended to all their friends here at St Matthews.  If you need transport, see Bob Best 226580

Churchwarden and membership of the Parochial Church Council

Nomination forms for the office of Churchwarden and for membership of the Parochial Church Council are at the back of Church. If you would like to stand for either position please complete a form and give it to Pip Leese before the Annual Parochial Church Meeting on 27 April 2008.

Annual Parochial Church Meeting

This takes place on Sunday 27^th April beginning with the 9.30am Eucharist. We hope you will give this high priority and make every effort to attend.  Please consider standing for the PCC.  If you are not on the Electoral Roll you will need to fill in a form. (See Bob Best for details)

ELECTORAL ROLL

Every year we are instructed to revise the Electoral Roll in time for our Annual Parochial Meeting, which this year falls on 27^th April. Being on the Roll at the time of the meeting makes you a full Member so you can vote at the meeting. The size of the Roll also indicates the well-being of St Matthews, which could affect our future allocation of a priest. It also determines our annual payment to the diocese, our representation at Deanery meetings, etc The rules state that we must give adequate notice, which means now, and that the revised roll must be raised and exhibited by the 13^th April.  We always welcome any new members, so if you attend regularly please complete a form BY MONDAY 7^th APRIL and return it to Bob Best via the box at the back of church, where you will also be able to find the necessary forms. Only this way can you ensure you are on the new roll.
