Good Friday

As well as St Matthew's service at 2.00 p.m. you are invited to join the BOCT Walk of Witness and Banner Workshop.  The Walk starts with a service at St Andrew's, Bushey Heath at 9.30am, and the walkers progress downhill all the way to St Matthew's, with 7 stops for a reading, a prayer and a verse of Roger's special hymn. Walkers join and leave at any point, but Hot Cross Buns are only supplied at the end!  Children too young to walk can attend the Banner Workshop, this year held at Bushey and Oxhey Methodist church, from 10.00am till the walk passes at about 11.30am, when the children join the walk with their banners and walk to St Matthew's for their H C Buns.  There will be other appropriate activities as well as Banner-making. To book a place in the (free) Workshop phone Sally on 226580.

Easter Bonnets

Last year we had a very good turnout of decorative headgear for the Easter Day service. Let's see if this year can be even better! Sally

Annual Parochial Church Meeting

This takes place on Sunday 27th April beginning with the 9.30am Eucharist. We hope you will give this high priority and make every effort to attend.  Please consider standing for the PCC.  If you are not on the Electoral Roll you will need to fill in a form. (See Bob Best for details)

Red Kneelers

We are trying to dispose of all but 20 of these so please help yourselves to any for gardening, praying or any other use you can think of, or even to throw away.

ELECTORAL ROLL

Every year we are instructed to revise the Electoral Roll in time for our Annual Parochial Meeting, which this year falls on 27th April.  Being on the Roll at the time of the meeting makes you a full Member so you can vote at the meeting.  The size of the Roll also indicates the well-being of St Matthews, which could affect our future allocation of a priest.  It also determines our annual payment to the diocese, our representation at Deanery meetings, etc. The rules state that we must give adequate notice, which means now, and that the revised roll must be raised and exhibited by the 13th April.   We always welcome any new members, so if you attend regularly please complete a form BY MONDAY 7th APRIL and return it to Bob Best via the box at the back of church, where you will also be able to find the necessary forms.  Only this way can you ensure you are on the new roll.
