Amber Warren after her baptism, October 2002

Anyone living in the parish is entitled to be baptised (Christened) or hold a funeral at St Matthew's.

The parish extends north to the River Colne, south and east to Oxhey and west to include the Oxhey Hall Estate. Since 1960, it no longer includes either Carpenders Park or South Oxhey, which now form the parish of All Saints. Here is a map showing the parish boundary. (note: this link will open a new window in your browser.)

To arrange a wedding or Christening, first telephone The Vicar for an appointment. Arrangements are made at the Vicarage on Wednesdays, between 7:00pm and 8:00 pm. If you are planning to get married at St Matthew's, please see our Weddings Page.If you are planning a Christening, the full text of the service is available to download (17KB in rich text format).

When someone in the parish dies, did you know that their funeral service can be held at St. Matthew's? There is no restriction on its length and we can help you to plan a fitting and personalised service. To find out more, contact The Vicar and see our page 'when someone dies' which tells you more about funerals and the other comfort and support we can provide.

There is a printable version of our fees for weddings and funerals available for you to download (last revised 1/1/2007).
